The Dolphin and the Monkey*

Once upon a time, there was a young sailor who had a handsome but boastful monkey. He always took his monkey on board.

But one time, a terrible storm hit the sea and the ship where the sailor and his monkey was in turned over. The poor monkey was separated from his master.
Luckily a kind dolphin came and offered to give the monkey a ride to the shore of Greece, the nearest island from where they were. The monkey was so thankful he rode comfortably on the dolphin’s back.

As they were swimming, the helpful dolphin asked how long the monkey had been in Greece, in this the monkey answered
“I’ve lived here forever” with a wide grin on his boastful face. The dolphin got excited and asked if the monkey know PEREUS, a famous city in Greece.
Can’t help boasting, the monkey answered
“Oh yeah sure, he’s a dear friend of my family’s” thinking that Pereus was a person.
The kind dolphin, realizing the monkey was a liar, got so irritated he dumped the monkey on the water and swam away leaving the boastful monkey to swim to shore by himself.
Moral of the Story: ‘Don’t brag. Don’t lie’

Good story. Being real and true to what you are is more rewarding than being proud without nothing.
