Ray Ban

We’ve been waiting. In fact, we’ve been waiting for a very long time already that I think my children already forgot what we are really waiting for. They know that we are waiting, but I think they do not mind anymore that we are waiting for a box, a particular box from my sister and my aunt from the US, lol! It was supposed to be sent last December because the contents are supposed to be Christmas presents. For for some reasons, it wasn’t.

Well, my children have every reason to wait, because, normally when my relatives send a box, my children always get the most number of stuff. As for me, a pair of nice ray-ban sunglasses will suffice.

I won’t get my hopes us, though, I’d rather be surprised than disappointed, lol!

A Secured Life

I woke up with a heavy head. It’s as if I’m not capable of going to work today. But I have to. You see, life is so tough these days that if I have to drag myself to the office then I will.

In times like these, I can’t afford to get sick, otherwise I need something that would secure my family in case I get really sick, so I need to check on Blue Cross Blue Shield quotes to find out which plan is best for me.

Many superstitious people think that preparing for emergency is like inviting it to come. Good thing I’m not superstitious because we really don’t know what’s going to happen. I think it’s just practical to think ahead…

GT: Life Resolution

Well, since I’m happy with what I am and what I have, I can’t think of any major resolutions for life in general.

So maybe I would just mention a few of the things I really would like to do which are…

(1) to continue: walking 2 miles a day, drinking a glass of milk before I go to sleep, paying the bills on time, holding back my anger when I’m provoked, ignoring my neighbor’s showing off, dressing up for work and dressing down at home, lol!

(2) to go out with my kids more often

(3) to watch movies more often

(4) to take more pictures

(5) to buy a new guitar

(6) to eat less sweets and eat more fibrous food

(7) to pay more attention to people around me so I could have something to blog about, lol!

(8) and finally… to start and end my day with prayer.

The Passerby

One day, a kind man was on top of a building. He looked down and saw a lot of passersby walking to and fro obviously in a hurry to go where they need to go. Then struck by an errant thought, he dropped a lovely red rose and it fell on the ground as an old lady was passing by. Totally surprised, the lady picked up the flower and happily went on her way.

The kind man was disappointed. The lady didn’t even look up to see where the fallen flower came from. So, he got a five hundred peso bill, rolled it and let it fall. It landed on an old man’s shoulder. The old man, filled with felicity for such luck picked up the bill  and put it in his pocket.

More disappointed than ever, the kind man got a small piece of stone and dropped it where it fell on a young man’s head. The young man swore, looked up and cursed whoever dropped the stone on his head.

Why is it that we rarely acknowledge the beautiful things that come our way and where they came from, but are so much affected by adversity and pain? And why do we only ‘look up’ when we are hurt?

Work Resolutions

Hmmm… I don’t have any problems as far as work is concerned. I love my work and I do believe my work loves me back, lol!

I am very passionate about my work and I do take everything about it very seriously. I always come on time, I am properly dressed and made up. And most importantly, I always make my students feel that I am happy to see them.

Teaching is not just a job, it’s a lifetime vocation. If you only do it because you have nothing else to do, then it’s not for you. Ability to teach is a very special gift that not every one is blessed with. Most importantly, it is something that you will be proud of until the last of your working days.

In that case, my work resolutions would be, to be the best teacher I could ever be..

Best For Baby

I received a text message from my very young friend, Laiza, late this afternoon. Well, I was surprised to hear from her. But, I was more surprised to learn that she already has a baby and she wants me to be her baby boy’s godmother.

Now, that’s so nice. They said that being a godmother is a blessing, that you’ll be blessed a hundred-fold for every godchild that you have.  Well, I wonder what to give the baby? I wish I could afford a bob revolution duallie se. That’s right, a nice stroller would be an ideal gift, best for baby. I can imagine how happy Laiza would be when her baby boy receive a stroller for a christening gift. Being a mom myself, I know she would appreciate it..

Bright Idea

My cousin Mon is turning 21 this year. His parents are very traditional, which is typical for those who grew up in the province. So we’re kind of trying to come up with non beer 21st birthday gifts that are both cool and conventional. It must be cool to be appreciated by the celebrant but it must be conventional not to be censored by the old folks.

Knowing Mon, he won’t say anything. He would surely grant us his nod of thanks and appear cheerful about what we just gave him. But of course, we like it to be something he would really like. His parents are another matter, they wouldn’t be too kind not to express their disapproval and I wouldn’t want to be there when it happens, lol!
