Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight. His hits include Skyline Pigeon, Daniel and Candle in the Wind. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and was knighted in 1998. In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Elton John #49 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He has been heavily involved in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s. Elton is also a champion of gay rights.
