JK Rowling, Creator of Harry Potter

“There’s always room for a story that can transport people to another place. “

If I were to be magically traded place with another person, I would like to trade place with the JK Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter. It is not because she is famous, nor because she is rich (lol!), it is because children from all over the world love her for what she wrote. And if I were to be a writer, I would like to write books children would love, because there is, I guess, nothing more fulfilling and rewarding than to make children happy..

The Perfect Pair of Sandals*

One day, a fashionable woman entered an equally fashionable store in search of a new pair of sandals. She put hers off  and tried the first pair she found nice enough. It didn’t fit, so she put it back in the rack. She got another pair and put it on. It fit, but she didn’t like the style. She got another pair, but she didn’t like the color. She got another pair, but it was too high. She got another pair, but it was too low. She got another, and another, and another.. But she didn’t find anything she likes.

She was about to leave when she noticed a nice pair of sandals at the far end of the rack near the door. She liked the style and she surely liked the color. She put it on. Alas! It fit and it felt so nice to her feet. She asked the manager how much it cost and was surprised when the manager said it doesn’t cost anything. She asked why that was and the manager answered..

‘Because it is yours. It was the pair of sandals you wore when you came. You took it off before you tried the new sandals..’

The woman left the store with a big smile in her lips.

Hers, after all, was the perfect pair of sandals, right style, right color, and felt good to her feet..

Sometimes, we feel that we deserve things better than what we have, better job, better house, better spouse, when actually GOD gave the BEST for us.

GT: Our Most Memorable Summer

I think the last memorable summer that my family and I had was way back 2005. That time, the kids were still young and my brother, Henry was still staying in our old house in the province.

The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins while I met some childhood friends. Life in the province may be simple compared with the life in the city, but it sure has a style all its own. But much as I want my children to grow in the province the way I did, my work is here in the city. Maybe someday, when I retire, I can come back home in the province and enjoy my remaining years there, lol!

Needed A Booster

Yesterday as we were busy entertaining clients’ inquiries, we were so surprised and glad to see a familiar face. It was a regular client of ours who hadn’t enrolled in our center since we moved in another part of the mall, the newly opened Annex II. According to her, she had been looking for us for the past 2 years. Obviously, she wasn’t able to get hold of any of the leaflets that we distributed announcing our move, nor did she read any of our tarpaulins outside the mall.

The truth is, we called our regular clients, unfortunately, she didn’t have a land line, and during that time, there was no signal in the Annex, or if there was, it was weak, so we were not able to call her on her cellphone. If I have known about the wilson electronics cell booster, I should have recommended something like it to our officer-in-charge.

To cut the story short, the client found us and enrolled her two kids in our Advancement Program..

Elton John, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer

“It’s the circle of life, and it moves us all, through despair and hope, through faith and love, ’till we find our place, on the path unwinding.”

Elton John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight. His hits include Skyline Pigeon, Daniel and Candle in the Wind. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and was knighted in 1998. In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Elton John #49 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He has been heavily involved in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s. Elton is also a champion of gay rights.
