The Difference*
One morning as a little boy was walking along the beach at low tide. He saw thousands of small sea creatures washed up, stranded on the beach and doomed to perish. Patiently and lovingly, the boy picked up one at a time and threw it back to the water. As the boy went along with this gesture, a man saw him and grinned. After a couple of minutes, the man approached the boy as the boy bent over to pick one and said..
“I can see that you are being very kind trying to save these poor creatures..”
The boy looked up and said “Thank you, Sir..” and went back to what he was doing…
The man spoke again and said.. “.. but you see, there are thousands of them, it wont make any difference..”
The boy looked at the man, threw a piece into the water and answered.. “It will for that one…” picked up another and repeated the gesture.. “and for that.”

I always go back to this story whenever I do a little act of kindness to someone. I always tell people that I cannot change the world, but I can always make a difference by doing something right even to just one person. thanks for sharing.
Very meaningful story…
Agree with Melody, there’s no useless in good deeds!
I think I have read this already..and yes, we may can’t do everything but we can do something:) thanks for sharing kim:)
No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted. I think if people are always kind to one another, the world would be in a better state than what it is now.
That is a very apt story about a person doing a good deed even if that will not make much of a difference. It is similar to the avatar in my blog that says, “it is better to light a single candle than to curse the whole darkness.” God does not expect us to solve all the problems in the world but He wants us to do something about the person He sends us to minister to. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
