Continuous vs Continual and Farther vs Further

 

Correct Usage

Continuous means non-stop

Ex. We were slowed down by the continuous rain.

 

Continual means happening again and again but with interval

Ex. The continual increase of prices of basic commodities irk the citizens.

 

Farther refers to distance

Ex. Jem walked farther than Maki did.

 

Further refers to extent

Ex. Wait for further notice.
